Term or permanent insurance – which is better?

Perhaps it’s the wrong way to think about insurance, but it’s really nothing more than a form of licensed gambling. You find this insurance company prepared to take you on and then place a bet on how long you are going to live. The insurance companies studies the form guide and decides how long people like you tend to live. It sets the premium and the jackpot number. If you die within the first few years, your family are big winners. They hit the jackpot for just a few premium instalments. But if you live far longer than expected, the insurance company wins big because it has the use of all your money during your lifetime and only pays back the sum agreed. That’s one of the interesting things about inflation. What looks a big number now may be peanuts in fifty years time. That’s why buying a policy with a fixed benefit is such an interesting bet.

Now to a simple distinction: a term policy buys you a fixed cash sum if you die within the period agreed. If you live past the due date, you lose, i.e. no benefit is payable and there is no refund of your premium instalments. The contract terminates. A permanent policy pays a benefit but there is an accumulating cash value, i.e. there is a form of savings account built into the plan. This appreciates in value during the term of the policy so, if the insurance company makes good investment decisions, the amount payable on death can be significantly more than the amount you paid in. This reflects and offsets the problem of inflation. Agreements to pay a fixed dollar amount usually represent very poor value over the long term. The further benefit of the investment element is that you can recover the cash value of the policy before you die. This is done either by surrendering the policy to the insurance company or by selling the policy on the open market. Sale of the policy realises more than the surrender value. Alternatively, most insurance companies allow you to borrow money from the investment account. This is good over the short term but never forget that interest is payable on the loan. If you are not careful, the continuing deduction of interest over time can wipe out the remaining cash value in the account. It is always worth paying back the loan or cutting your losses and surrendering the policy if repayment is unaffordable.

Because it has additional value, permanent life insurance policies are more expensive to buy than term policies. But, once the contract is in place, the amount of the instalments is fixed so, as inflation devalues the dollar, it becomes an increasingly affordable proportion of your monthly paycheck. If you renew successive term policies, the premium rises with each new policy. Some argue that the key advantage of term policies is you get cheap coverage and can invest the money saved on the premiums. If you make good investment decisions, you can emerge a winner. So, if you are only thinking short-term, i.e. up to ten years, go for term. If you are thinking strategically over your lifetime, go for a permanent policy. When buying the first policy or looking to top up your cover, always get the maximum number of life insurance quotes to ensure you find the best deal.

The truth is finally here

Perhaps we were all misinformed. Was there really a report that the Earth was round? Did it come out about the same time as that mad suggestion the Earth goes round the sun? It gets so confusing about what is true and what is theory. Science is supposed to be ahead of the game but. . . All of which brings me to a key fact about the effectiveness of medical treatment. Since the beginning of time, a significant part of every successful treatment has been the so-called placebo effect. This is where the patient so strongly believes the treatment will work that any treatment will be successful. Even though the patient is given a completely inactive pill, liquid to drink or cream to rub on to the affected area, the patient is still cured. It is the classic demonstration of mind over matter. People simply will themselves better. For example, acupuncture is used as an anaesthetic for major surgery in China. Patients lie with their eyes open and needles sticking into them while surgeons cut them open. They talk about the weather with the nurses. In the West, there is recent research showing acupuncture to be successful even though needles are stuck into the wrong points in the body. All it takes is a strong enough belief that the acupuncture will be effective.

This is a simple way of saying a society must trust its doctors. If physicians are to command respect and so inspire confidence in the treatments they prescribe, they must be seen to be in touch with the latest science. Their words must be full of truth. If they seem out-of-date or behind the times, why should we trust them when they tell us to favor a particular treatment? People vote with their feet. When it comes to something important, we all choose to see the people who are thought to be the best in their field of expertise. We want the best. This makes the most recent pronouncement of the American College of Physicians all the more worrying. This October, they felt sufficiently certain of the science to be able to issue a general advisory notice to all their members. From now on, ACP members are to act on the basis that erectile dysfunction should be treated with viagra.

So, all you poor patients can relax now. You no longer have to wrestle with your consciences as ACP members prescribe vacuum tubes and hormone injections for your ED. All that uncertainty whether to follow this advice has gone. Your doctor will now officially be allowed to prescribe a little blue pill to resolve your problem. Have all these leaders in scientific thought been hiding under a rock for the last ten years? What are they thinking? How can it inspire confidence in the medical profession to make a formal announcement today about something patently obvious to the rest of the world for the last ten years? This is an incredible moment in time. Ladies and gentlemen, the truth has finally come in from the cold. It’s official. Buy viagra with confidence. It is better than all the old hormone treatments and other silly pieces of equipment that occasionally appeared in the bedroom. Pop a pill and your ED is gone!

Troubleshooting your sex life

When erection problems come your way, most men usually search in panic for the most effective medication that will help them get the spark back. But not that many think of the causes behind erectile dysfunction and try to dig out the root of the problem. Too bad, because this is just the right way to avoid erection problems altogether and make them milder even if they come. Erection problems are often caused by the overall state of your health and body, and if you want to enjoy a good sexual life for a longer time, here are some things you have to think about doing:

First step: exercise is important

Numerous studies indicate that exercising is directly related to the likelihood of developing impotence at a certain point. Men, who burn more than 200 calories daily by exercising are know to be less prone to erectile dysfunction and their testosterone levels are usually higher then in men who don’t exercise. However, there is a word of caution towards those who prefer to use biking as their exercise of choice – men riding bikes are twice as likely to have erection problems as other men. Doctors link this finding with the usual block and tension in the penile area, while riding bikes (both on road and in the gym), which affects blood circulation.

Second step: forget about bad habits and fatty meals

Erection strongly depends on the state of arteries in the penis, as a normal blood circulation will result in a good and stable erection. But with age, men tend to suffer from various blood vessel conditions, the most frequent of which is atherosclerosis. You may not notice it until you are will into your 50’s, as it will gradually affect the vessels in your entire body, not only those next to your heart. And that means that the blood circulation in the penile area is likely to be affected by the condition. That’s why preventing conditions such as atherosclerosis means you’re also preventing erection problems. Here are some things you should do to make sure you are less prone to blood vessel problems:

  • Eat less fatty meals
  • Shed off those extra pounds
  • Quit smoking

Of all things, smoking is probably the most negative factor influencing erection problems. So remember that each cigarette smoked makes your impotence closer and more evident.

Third step: analyze the drugs you are taking

Erection problems can be caused by certain drugs you are currently taking. So make sure to consult with your physician, especially if you are currently taking any of the following groups of drugs:

  • Antidepressants
  • Hypertension treatments
  • Psychosis or anxiety pills
  • Heartburn medications
  • Prostate disease drugs
  • Cholesterol regulators

Substances like alcohol, marijuana and steroids are also known to affect male sexual potency, so make sure you’re not abusing the.

Fourth step: choose a treatment

With so many drugs designed for treating male impotence you will surely find what works for you. Drugs like Cialis or Levitra are known to help in the majority of cases, so if you need a little boost, you can easily buy Cialis or any other drug online – thanks to the numerous online pharmacies out there, it has never been easier to do that.

War is used to test every kind of technology

It’s a sad, but well known fact that war is good for business. Companies that manufacture weapons need to prove their technology works. So small wars are excellent testing grounds for both the current and new ideas. If everything performs as it should, other governments around the world will buy the systems for their own armed forces. But wars are not just about the latest guns, armored vehicles, ships or airplanes. They also test the people who fight. Despite the drive to keep fighters safe by using drones and other systems to kill the enemy from a safe distance, human beings still have to go face-to-face with the enemy in combat. Once you put people into real fighting situations, they get injured. For a while, this was not a problem but, as the engagement in both Iraq and Afghanistan has continued, the strain on the volunteer forces has increased. Military personnel are being rotated more rapidly with less time to recover from injury. As this is being written, President Obama is considering whether to increase the contribution to the NATO force in Afghanistan. If an increase is authorized, this will put even more strain on the armed services.

The US Government Accountability Office is responsible for monitoring how effectively the Department of Defense uses its resources. Deployment strategies have seen more rapid rotations of soldiers into combat zones for longer tours of duty. This has led to an increasing chorus of complaints that there are not enough uninjured personnel to form an effective fighting force. In recent studies, some 15% of the enlisted personnel “resting” in the US were injured. These were not life-threatening conditions. The people were “walking wounded”. But, when their time came to return to the combat zone, almost three-quarters were sent back even though still injured. Unfortunately, it’s not for the GAO to review how commanders in the field use injured personnel. All that can be said is that all serve their country with honor.

Despite the efforts of the Department of Defense to reduce blogging by serving personnel, there has been a steady stream of evidence about the use of tramadol. Back home, families also give interviews in their local newspapers confirming they routinely end bottles of tramadol out to their family members. All this anecdotal evidence confirms the power of this drug to keep people mobile and active, even in a high-stress environment. Leaving aside the question of whether US personnel should be fighting overseas, the reality is that the freedom of the families to buy tramadol online is helping to keep soldiers at their fighting best. Because their pain is relieved, they sleep better and fight with greater distinction. Cheap tramadol may be old technology but, in these two wars, it’s proving once again how effective it is to keep pain under control. So, if you also suffer from moderate to severe pain, you too can benefit from the use of tramadol – the most commonly used drug in combat zones is available to help you fight the pain on the home front. Get a better quality of life and buy tramadol online today.

Insurance for business travel

Imagine one of your top salesmen wins a contract in Asia and has to fly there to seal the deal. What if the $5000 trip needs to be laid off due to a public health problem, disaster or another disruption?

You might expect refundable business class tickets to allow them being laid off or that the company investment is protected by travel “waivers” offered by the travel agents. Sometimes this is the case but not always. Waivers apply to very specific circumstances and are loosely regulated. Always remember to read the small print to understand exactly what your rights are.

The alternative, of course, is to take out travel insurance. This way you can manage the risk of changing business travel plans and add other types of cover to the policy, proving extra security to your employee. Travel insurance can entail a complete risk management plan designed to protect the employee, company and investment.

Travel insurance is available for purchase per trip or it can cover all the travels of workers within a specified period of time, one year being the most typical period. Policies like these are specifically designed for enterprises where employees and management have to travel internationally on a regular basis, visiting risky areas on occasion.

Travel Insurance Types

Travel insurance is primarily designed to cover five categories:

Cancellation. If the trip is canceled, this ensures the cost is covered. Coverage should be as broad as possible to protect against cancellation for any reason although this will cost extra.

Travel and Major Medical. This determines the medical insurance coverage. Travel Medical insurance covers medical care for short overseas trips and includes assistance from the insurer in finding doctors, hospitals and overcoming language problems. Major Medical covers long-term travel or overseas postings.

Emergency Medical Evaluation. This covers the evacuation or transportation of an employee to medical facilities or even home at a cost of $25,000. Transportation by helicopter is very expensive.

Accidental Death-Flight Accident. Similar to life insurance, if a traveler should die because of a crash or accident, his/her beneficiaries will receive benefits.

Luggage and Personal Belongings Coverage. This covers the loss, theft or damage of luggage or personal belongings during travel. Considering the cost of electronic devices used by travelers (such as laptops), this can be very valuable coverage.

Based on the information provided by the US Travel Insurance Association, travel insurance coverage accounts about 4% to 8% of the entire cost of the business trip including various riders and extras that can push the percentage even higher. That means that a $5,000 worth business trip will account $200 to $400 in insurance costs.

But these costs certainly worth the money you pay for this form of business insurance because your enterprise can face much higher expenses if an employee ends up in an accident or health situation while being on duty. So weight in all the costs carefully before sending your workers abroad and don’t tend to save money on this type of business insurance because it will cost you more not having it when needed.

How often should you pay for your insurance?

In the good old days, the world was a simple place. You went into a store to buy goods, or to an agent or broker to buy services. The price was quoted and you paid it out of the cash in your bank account. If your account was poorly stocked with dollar notes, you had to wait until you had saved enough. In this primitive way, people lived within their means, only buying goods and services when they could afford them. Those who had regular income and some collateral, were graciously allowed to borrow money from their banks. But pity those who defaulted. Their collateral would rapidly disappear into the hands of their bankers. It was a tough world for borrowers. Then there was a revolution. Suddenly, there was cheap credit available and we could all have what we wanted right now. Just one down-payment and the rest in easy instalments. Then the revolution became a financial tsunami as the newly launched credit cards suddenly put real buying-power in our hands with generous credit limits. Add in the housing equity release plans and all the other wonderful financial gizmos dreamt up by the folk who live on Wall Street, and you have the modern age just before the worst recession in decades and the credit crunch that took everyone by surprise.

Buying insurance policies has always been potentially expensive. When you see the premium rate expressed as an annual sum, it can look a little daunting. Yet, when you are old enough to put wheels on the road, there’s mandatory liability cover in all but three US states. This is where dreams would fade were it not for the willingness of insurance companies to be flexible on the payments. First they dropped to 6 monthly payments. Some went for quarterly. And then the final act of liberation – the monthly instalment plan. Now you could buy your policy on the same basis as your home, the furniture and white goods in it, and the car you wanted to drive. Everything had come down to the total amount you could afford to pay every month and still have something left over to buy food. This has some major benefits. You can buy insurance with no down payment. Just use the internet search engines to find cheap auto insurance quotes offering the lowest premium rates, pay the first instalment in advance and you are legal on the road.

But there is more to it than that. Ignoring the supposed advantage of easier money management, it also frees you to change your auto insurance policy whenever you find a better deal. If you have paid six or twelve months in advance, this locks you into the policy. Yes, companies do allow you to change, but usually subject to cancellation charges – sometimes eye-poppingly high. The freedom to change insurers can be important if you change the make and model you drive. The existing insurer may be less competitive on the rates for the new vehicle, but the charges may take up the saving available by switching to a competitor. However, because insurers prefer stability, they offer discounts on 6 or 12 monthly payments to give them your cash in their hands. Paying on a monthly basis is always more expensive. As always, it’s your choice.

What are the main psychological causes hidden behind erectile dysfunction?

What do we know about impotence? We know almost nothing really. Erectile dysfunction is inability to maintain sexual intercourse with erection. A lot of men face this issue but it has never been so easy to eliminate this problem as it is now. For the past decades people have known shame, trying to hide their inabilities to have a good sexual experience with their partner. Sexual disorders can appear at any time and you don’t have to be certain age to get them. Of course, those men who are getting older are more likely to get these types of problems but it should not be a bother.

Sexual disorder problems can hit your pocket hard. For those men that can’t imagine their life without sex these drugs is one of the most important purchases. The effectiveness of each particular drug is different. It is important to remember that you have to be able to afford the medication as you will need to buy it constantly as you start the treatment so don’t buy anything that doesn’t suit you by the price.

As professionals, we would recommend you to go to a good specialist and talk about your case. Men have different sexual problems – it doesn’t mean all of those can be applied to you. You should always remember that a drug is not a toy. You can’t abuse it or use as much as you want. When taken out of the normal dose it turns into trouble creating reactions you never expected to have. You should try to not consume alcohol when you take these sorts of pills. Also it is forbidden to let anyone advice these drugs to each other.

What else is there to know? We would want you to become familiar with the process of drug taking. Usually you can start feeling the result as soon as 30 minutes after the pill consumption. The pill lasts averagely for not more than 6 hours, which allows the guy or the man to have several sexual intercourses.

Sexual disorders can be cause by anything. Don’t think you are a weird person having these issues. Stress is one of the major causes of erectile dysfunction.

One of the drugs that will definitely help you get rid of your ongoing insecurities that are sex related is Levitra. It is a well-known medication that people trust and recommend according to some online researches. It has proven to be more effective than Viagra pushing it off the number 1 spot of the impotency drugs. While Viagra is active for about 4 hours, Levitra lasts as long as 5 hours and some men claim, more than that. You can purchase Levitra online and not be afraid of doing so. You don’t always need a prescription for it but you have to stay clever about anything you do. This medication is being sold in more than 50 countries world-wide which is quite an impressive achievement.

Please remember that this pill should not be consumed with other medication in order to prevent ones body from other health problems. Some drugs just don’t seem to interact well with each other so just stick that in mind. Keeping yourself happy is one of the most important things and if you know that sex is one thing that definitely makes you happy – you have to make sure your sex is good and not only does it bring pleasure to your partner but is pleasant to you as well. We really hope it is like this!

Legal threat emerges over erectile dysfunction

One of the key demands made by Republican politicians is to clamp down on trial lawyers – these inconvenient people who go round suing capitalists who cause loss and injury to others. Capitalism is all about making the maximum possible profit. If this means cutting a few corners and taking a few risks, that’s an acceptable part of the game and should be without liability if things go seriously wrong. Lawyers have this twisted sense of reality. They believe manufacturers and service providers should be held responsible if they injure other people. The courts try to occupy the middle ground and order corporations too seriously at fault to ignore to pay out a few millions as compensation. No large corporation has ever been hit with an award of damages so high that it was forced into bankruptcy. This leaves judgments from the courts and negotiated settlements with government as no more than a slap on the wrist. After payment, business goes on as before. It’s as if nothing happened.

Which brings us to the emerging evidence of a link between Bisphenol A and sexual problems for men. Now you might not have heard of BPA but it’s everywhere. The key uses are to harden clear plastic and as part of the recipe to make epoxy resin. Pick up any food or drinks container and the odds are it contains BPA. It’s also used to line virtually every can of food and drink sold in the US. There’s just one problem. The chemical leaches into the food or drink. That means everything you eat from canned vegetables, meat or fish, and everything you drink from juice to beer, contains this chemical. In adults, this may not be quite so bad but in babies and young children, it’s really bad. So bad, in fact, that its use in any infant product has been banned in several countries. In the US, the FDA has been weighing up the evidence to decide whether there should be limits on its use. So far, the manufacturers have resisted any suggestion their product damages people.

The latest evidence comes out of China where men exposed to high levels of BPA were seven times more likely to suffer erectile dysfunction. The suggestion in the US is that BPA may build up slowly and reach toxic levels after several years, first showing in men as erectile dysfunction. The FDA will release its findings shortly. If it avoids the political pressures and finds the scientific case proven, product liability lawyers around the country will say prayers of thanks. The time of great suing will be upon us. All of which brings us back to those men in the US currently suffering from erectile dysfunction. Up to now, doctors have routinely tested for heart disease as the most likely underlying cause. More lab work may now be necessary. You could routinely buy viagra and treat the problem, but this may only be a short-term solution. No matter how good viagra is – and it is very good – it cannot combat chemical castration by BPA if you are unlucky enough to have eaten and drunk too much plastic over your lifetime.

Tomorrow is the busiest day of the week

Wherever you go on the internet, whichever newspapers and magazines you open, there’s a familiar marketing message. Apparently, it’s easy to lose those unwanted pounds. Yeah, right. The marketers target our insecurities. They show us “before” and “after” pictures and suggest we too can become an “after” person if we buy their product. “Just spend your dollars with us,” they wheedle, “and we’ll heal your pain.” There are a mass of interesting assumptions in all these ads. It seems almost everyone is a target. We all want to shed pounds. That means we must all be unhappy with our current body shape. We must feel uncomfortable, perhaps even the victim of discrimination. Perhaps the health message is getting through and we begin to feel real fear of blocked-up arteries, high blood pressure and heart disease. Whatever the reason, the advertizers scent blood in the water and they are circling round our purses and wallets ready to sink their teeth into our dollars and disappear without delivering on all their promises.

Keeping this real, if it was easy to lose weight, no-one would be overweight. Everyone would have their ideal weight. What makes losing weight so difficult? We just keep putting off action to another day. As the title to this article says, “Tomorrow is the busiest day of the week”. Delay makes an easy job harder. But, in the meantime, we buy those weight loss magazines and take a few pills. Hope burns eternal. We are all the victims of one of the not-so-great American myths – that we can get what we want without having to work hard for it. Just look at the tens of thousands who queue up for American Idol and the other shows to discover the next big talent. They all believe success is theirs for the asking.

So let’s go back to the drawing-board. The scientific evidence shows we lose the most weight in the shortest time when we combine a calorie-reduced diet with an exercise program. That means eating smaller portions of lean meat and adding fruit, vegetables and a good source of fibre to what we eat. For this to work, there is no tomorrow. You have to live and work through every day, making a commitment and keeping it. But the “keeping” of the commitment is the problem. We often lack the will to keep going. Of course, with money in the bank, we could all hire a personal trainer. This would make us more accountable and focus our minds on the importance of regular activity. But, with the credit crunch and the priority of financial survival, a private trainer is a distant dream. So involve friends and family. Get their support. Invite them to join in. Motivation is reinforced when others are involved. And for those times when you are on your own, there’s always phentermine to help you through. This is the best of the appetite suppressants and has been on the maret longer than any other competitor drug. It reduces the hunger pangs and helps you manage your body’s messages to eat. With phentermine to keep your body under control, you can focus your mind on losing weight and make it work. You know it makes sense.

Sleeping and the placebo effect

There used to be a joke going the rounds about the relationship between doctors and a patient. When the patient asks for treatment, the doctors reply. “This is a time for mind over matter. We don’t mind and you don’t matter.” It may not be very funny, but it makes the point that many doctors have very poor people skills and frequently do not really care what happens to their patients. The notion of doctoring as a caring profession is just another of those urban myths. The majority are in the game for the money and high status. They want the maximum revenue with the minimum effort. Yet, there is another side to the joke. There has long been real scientific evidence of the so-called placebo effect. Put simply, this occurs when a patient given a fake medication or an ineffective substance gets better because he or she believes the treatment will be effective. This is not to accuse patients of being hypochondriacs with imaginary illnesses and diseases. But to recognize the genuine power of the mind to control the body. People who believe strongly enough in the effectiveness of a particular method to cure them will often experience the cure. In a recent clinical trial of a new drug to treat lupus, about one-third of the participants given the placebo recovered. Perhaps this is the real power of mind over matter.

All of which brings us to the placebo effect applied to insomnia. If you ask a doctor how to get to sleep and then stay asleep until dawn comes, the majority will offer to write the standard prescription. Those who prefer to find a natural solution may then be tempted into the world of homeopathy where natural substances are used to treat diseases and disorders. Indeed, as you surf the net, you will find thousands of sites offering to sell you “all natural” products to cure all ills. Remembering the placebo effect, you may well find any of these substances effective if you believe strongly enough that they will work. Scientists who have studied the phenomenon map changes in brain waves. Psychologists note mood changes. The result is a form of self-hypnosis where people feel themselves getting better. Ironically, the Federal Trade Commission now terms these drugs and potions as “credence products”. Combine the ideas that people want the drug to work and do not want to feel they have been ripped off. The result is often a cure.

Before you all rush on to the internet to buy expensive “all natural” credence products to treat your insomnia, there is a completely free treatment with a small mountain of scientific evidence to show it works. This is meditation and relaxation therapy. Instead of having to rely on ambien every night which, incidentally will ensure a good night’s sleep, it is far better to learn how to meditate and reduce the stress in your life. Once you achieve a true level of relaxation, you will find sleep comes naturally. But if you cannot believe in this strongly enough, you should buy ambien. All the scientific trials demonstrate this drug as consistently effective in producing sleep without many of the adverse side effects sometimes caused by other drugs. This is a form of involuntary sleep because it is chemically induced. Over the long term, medication is free and effective. If only you believe in it strongly enough.
